“I Found Myself In A Family Background That Irritated Me” Renown Pastor Shares On How He Rose Above POVERTY

The founder and Head Pastor of The Synagogue Church of God Nigeria, Prophet TB Joshua,  shared some throwback photos of when he was 17, 20 and 25 years of age.

He also told the story of his poor family background and how he was able to rise above poverty.
Read His story below;

“I found myself in a family background that irritated me. My natural circumstance of birth was poverty. I come from a very humble background. Poverty loomed large in the family. The little education I had was through self effort. I know many people with a similar circumstance of birth who did otherwise. They allowed their circumstance to influence their will. Their dreams crashed on the rocks of disappointment, failure and setback.”

Today, many people blame their situation on family background. Some would say, “I am poor because everyone in my family is poor.” If you make excuses for being poor, your poverty cannot be excused. Remember, you are responsible for what you give your attention to; so it is unnecessary to blame your situation on anyone. Today, it is common for people to blame their failure on their family background, whereas they attribute their success to their personal effort. If you attribute your success to your personal effort, you should also accept the blame for your failure. When we make excuses for our wrongdoing, such misdeeds would not be excused.

I recognised early enough that victory obtained through Christ was a time past victory. I mean, it is victory assured. Rather than despair and blame my situation on family background, I began to be proud of my situation in order to feel Christ’s victory over me. I became content with my situation, knowing that my situation is redeemable through Christ and that the redemption was a time-past one. I mean, redemption assured. Then I began to take God at His Word in order to have His way.

Nobody is too good or too bad to qualify for His grace. Remember, it was possible for me to sit somewhere and begin to make excuses for my situation. I never did. Whatever I am today is a product of that conviction that victory through Christ is victory indeed. The rest is history!” – TB Joshua

“The Wound Of ONE Should Be The Wound Of ALL” : TB Joshua Calls For African Unity After Xenophobia Incident

Nigerian Prophet TB Joshua addressed the contentious issue of xenophobia in his church service on Sunday 19th April 2015, a subject gaining worldwide attention after the recent spate of violent attacks against foreign nationals in South Africa.

In a short message televised live on popular Christian station Emmanuel TV and subsequently posted on Joshua’s social media accounts, the cleric called for Africans to unite.

He said that each country has peculiar challenges, adding that as South Africans are battling xenophobia, Nigerians are faced with the menace of Boko Haram.

“The wound of one should be the wound of all,” the cleric preached. “Whatever happens in any African country, we should come together – what can we do? We should see it as if it happens in our own country.”

Joshua likened the African continent to a human body comprised of many parts, each important for successful functionality. “In the body, if anything happens to a part of it, the whole body will feel it,” he described.

Joshua frowned on the plans of several countries to repatriate citizens scared of the xenophobic violence. “Why can’t we come together and redeem our continent,” he asked.

“Africa, unite,” he passionately encouraged congregants and viewers alike. “We have a common enemy – satan! We have one enemy camouflaged differently, uniformed differently.”

The cleric also declared that God was in ‘control’ of the volatile situation in South Africa and the xenophobic violence was ‘over’.

Nearing the end of the service, Joshua was presented with a branch of an olive tree allegedly plucked from the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem, Israel.

Ronny Levy Musan, an Israeli expert, said it symbolised the forging of a relationship between The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) and the holy land, after which Joshua announced to viewers he would soon begin to hold ‘revival’ services in Israel.

According to him, this would provide Christians an opportunity to not only receive prayer but visit holy sites within Israel to inspire their faith.

Joshua, who is renowned for his alleged prophetic abilities, later prophesied that a president would be ‘rushed to the hospital’, causing panic in the affected nation. He called on congregants to pray every Tuesday.

The Bishop behind the pulpit at The Synagogue Church of All Nation, TB Joshua, is said to have given several prophecies in Nigeria, most of which have come to reality.

His original statement states :

“He said that he saw a leader being captured. The prophet instructed the people of God to fast and pray on Wednesday and Thursday.  He said Wednesday and Thursday had nothing to do with what was going to happen, but the people of God should fast and pray on those days.

He also told the congregation that he will stay in an attitude of prayer for the country concerned, so that God might subdue this coming evil to a mere sign.
He said that the country concerned is not Kenya, but a country close to it. He mentioned that it is the same country in which a similar event took place while they were drinking and dancing.

He will continue to pray for them, but he will not mention their names unless God instructs him to do so. He said if prayer and security are not in place, the blood of thousands will be wasted. Let us all stay in an attitude of faith and prayer, in Jesus’ name.”

The televangelist also said he saw a vision of people having a good time in a nightclub before it was blown up.
