Mental Health Ambassador Sitawa Wafula who is loved by many for her advocacy of Mental Health issues was awarded with the East Africa Philanthropy Youth Award at EAAG Gala 2013 .
The award was presented to Sitawa by the EAAG at the awards Gala Dinner during the 4th East Africa Grantmakers Conference which was held 23rd-26th July In Mombasa.
The East Africa Association of Grantmakers (EAAG) basically brings together Trusts & Foundations in East Africa by Promoting Philanthropy & Local Giving which is something great.
Sitawa Wafula has been a great advocate in talking about mental health issues openly that saw her appointed as Kenya’s mental health ambassador in August 2010. This has also made her to sit on stakeholder meetings in charge of revising Mental Health legislation in Kenya and also am a member of National Epilepsy Co-ordination Council, Kenya.
