Reports say that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cousin died in a road accident at Roysambu, Nairobi on Saturday.
Mike Gathecha, son of Uhuru’s uncle Peter Gathecha, died instantly after his Toyota Crown rammed into a stationary lorry.
Gathecha was the proprietor of Juja Capital Centre which has a restaurant, a bar, a lounge and a tyre centre.
Friends and relatives described him as a flamboyant businessman and car enthusiast.
His wrecked car was towed to Kasarani police station.

Kenyans who knew her took to social media to mourn her death and so did H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta who shared a condolence message to the family and friends.
The president shared :
“My condolences to the family, relatives, and friends of the late Ms Emmy Chepng’etich Ruto.
It is with a deep sense of loss that I send you this message of condolence and encouragement following the death of your beloved daughter and one of the young dedicated Kenyan Ms Emmy Chepng’etich Ruto who passed on after a short illness.
It is hard to comprehend how the cruel hand of death has so suddenly snatched Emmy Chepng’etich from our midst. She was an energetic, jovial and an extremely pleasant person to deal with.
The death of Emmy reminds us that we are sojourners in this earth. It is therefore prudent for all of us to be focused and contribute to the wellbeing of our society.
Emmy Chepng’etich was one of the few young professional Kenyans whose innovativeness and creativity has immensely contributed to the agenda of lighting up the whole nation through her skill as an electrical engineer.
For the period she has worked at the Geothermal Development Company, Emmy has proved to be a dependable person whose efforts were geared towards the success of the nation.
Her participation in social activities such as the game of cricket, which saw her being appointed as the captain of National Women Cricket team, was valuable contribution to the growth of sports in the country.
Despite her success, the late Emmy learnt the virtue of humility which enabled her to always mingle with both the lowly and the mighty in society.
I sincerely hope the Lord Almighty will give you strength and fortitude to bear the loss. In this hour of sorrow, I convey my deep sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives and friends of Governor Isaac Ruto and the residents of Bomet County.
May God rest her soul in eternal peace.”

Uhuru stated in his short but powerful speech :
“God has been, God is, and God will always be there for this country.God has never abandoned Kenya, but maybe we have abandoned God, we need to ask ourselves that if we commit ourselves to go and practice what has been preached, we will have a great country. Lets see more of leaders working together and not shouting at each other, less of hate speech.”
The function took place today 29th May 2014 also had the Deputy President , government officals and religious leaders present.
So are dreams valid no matter where you are from? This is probably applies to the dream of this young child who tried to take a photo of the President and his wife while at their visit in Ethiopia.
The President and wife met with Kenyans living and working in Ethiopia on Thursday evening as he listened to their experiences and addressed them on what the Government will do to improve their stay abroad.
In the same visit he met with this young children and one of them made his visit a memorable one. The Baby was given a phone and tried to take a photo of the president of Kenya.
