MERCY MASIKA SHOULD WIN FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR- GROOVE AWARDS

mwema by mercy masika

In all cases constant Mercy Masika should scoop the female artist of the year at Groove Awards 2016 without a doubt. This should happen because her songs Mwema and Nikupendeze have been one of the most requested songs on tv and radio shows across the country in the year 2015-2016.

mass

If all were to be called a spade a spade then NTV presenter, Larry Madowo, would be on the front line after backing her up to win the accolade during her first interview on the Trend.

Since her music hiatus in 2012 after releasing Emmanuel Mercy Masika decided to try something new in 2014 by allowing Mr Vee to write for her a song that was recorded at Still Alive Records.  No sooner had it neared 2 months after release than the song started getting ernomous airplay on main stream media.

A year later her song Mwema was seen by many as the song of the year but with the stiff competition from Lingala Ya Yesu and Barua, Mwema failed to scoop the award for 2015.

Without losing hope Mercy later released Nikupendeze at Still Alive and within 3 months the song was over thousands views on you-tube (now currently at a million). This was when everyone started speaking of Mercy and how far her music has touched souls in clubs and churches.

In April 2016 the hour of waiting had finally come and on the nomination gala at KNT she was proudly nominated in two categories in the 2016 Groove Awards.

Her song ‘Nikupendeze’ was nominated under Song of the Year and the other was the female artist of the year alongside Eunice Njeri, Gloria Muliro, Janet Otieno, Evelyn Wanjiru and SIze 8.

Without a doubt Mercy Masika is a household name and 99% she should win the female artiste of the year. But with everything being in the power of the voters probably their might be a surprise that we do not expect when the winner will be unveiled.

In everything she remains a humble person, despite the fame that shines on her. Often, she thanks God and her listeners for allowing her to minister through her songs.

‘I’M OKAY AND NOT HURT FROM THE ACCIDENT’ : MERCY MASIKA

Gospel singer Mercy Masika has brushed aside reports that she was involved in a grisly road accident. The singer who exclusively spoke to Uliza Links stated that she is out of danger and came out un scratched after  her car was bumped into by another car while on transit on Saturday morning at 2 am.

Mercy Masika who has hit the marks with her new song Nikupendeze was  travelling with her husband to Thika for a gospel award when surprisingly they got thumped into by another car of gospel artiste, Dominic Kinyanjui.

Reports had later stated that Mercy is fighting for her life but she brushed the rumors by saying that the accident wasn’t that serious on her side but it’s the car that got badly damaged.

Possibly the pictures that surfaced online of her in hospital and the car condition could have been the reason why blogs thought that she was badly hurt.

Having been cautious after the collision, the couple and the other driver were taken to Agha-khan hospital where they both had a check up and were cleared.

UPDATE :

Mercy Masika later performed on Sunday at Pure Praise Family Concert at KICC. She is okay, just shaken.

Focus On Mercy Masika : “My Journey As A Gospel Musician”

Our Segment of getting to know more about our brothers and sisters in the ministry of the gospel is back.

sing ye all a new song

Today meet our lovely sister Mercy Masika, a praise and worship singer and a mother of two  (a girl and a boy). On her music career as gospel musician she has scooped several  awards and also currently she is a Groove Award Nominee 2013 (Video Of The Year Category – Emmanuel).

What makes her stand out as a lady is her passion for ministry of the Gospel and if you have seen her singing( At Jcc Church) you will agree with me that Mercy has that kind of love for the Lord.

Read her  music journey Below

Mercy Masika Muguro

I started singing in church at a very tender age. My parents travelled a lot on missions and my sister and I accompanied them. I have pictures of us singing when I was four.

With help from my mother, I recorded an album at 11, titled Nobody Like Jesus. Throughout primary and secondary school I sung. And every weekend we had invitations to sing in other places. In Form One, I released my second album titled Roses will bloom again, which I did with Reuben Kigame.

After Form Four, aged 18, I released Amukomete, with the realization that you have to reach your own people. This album introduced me to the world. My latest album, Milele was launched last year (For which she won ‘Artist of the Year’ and ‘Female Artist of the Year’ Awards at the 2008 Groove Awards).

The murky waters

When I plunged into music, I resolved to put my challenges aside. I was convinced that bitterness would only stand in the way of achieving my goals. It was not easy though. Many people for instance, took me for granted.

Some would refuse to honor their pledge to pay me after a day’s performance. But I learnt to disregard this since my motto was: So long as people are blessed, it is fine with me.

I think gospel is doing well in terms of concerts and gatherings.

Future plans

“I plan to do music fulltime. Music is what I do best and the industry in general has been growing since 2002. Gospel music differs from secular as we speak life and hope. For me it is not about the fame or money; I am happy when my music ministers to someone hurting or when it helps them experience God.

I believe that anything God gives me should be used to bless others. I have a project in Yatta, where poverty is a grave challenge. I work with women in this project that is called Aka Oi (Wise women). I am currently raising funds to help the women make something of their lives.

On the side, I make and sell jewellery — just completed a course on cooking and i must say its fantastic , a hotel, bakery and catering mentor ship on the way it is my hobby.”

Hope you learnt a  little more about Mercy Masika. Blessings

Interesting!! Mercy Masika Feels Like Hosting A Party For Size 8 And Lady Bee

Luke 15:7 says : In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner/soul who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!

mercy masika

This is the new transformation in our sisters Size 8 and Lady Bee who gave their life’s to Christ. Without a doubt we tell them welcome home for making the right decision for choosing Peace of Christ over pieces of the world.

Now our elder sister Mercy Masika also feels we should have like a prayer party for size 8 and Lady Bee which i think its a great idea. What do you think?

This is what she said :

“Today i wish i can do a party for size8genge and ladybee to welcome them home.”
