On Thursday Daniel Ndambuki a.k.a Churchill hosted Miss World finalists on his show that is usually recorded at Carnivore Restaurant. With all the laughter that comes from the show it seems that one incident didn’t go to well on that day as one of the finalists was allegedly laughed at for her accent and lack of proper explanation.

Singer Maich of BMF was not so amused by the incident which he says is quite sad to pick on someone for her accent. The lady seemed to try so hard to explain herself which took a lot of time and the attendees started laughing at the lady by raising their voices.

Maich posted :

“I was saddened as i watched Churchill Show the other night when the miss world Kenya finalists showed up. I saw my fellow Kenyans applauding one of the contestants for having an American accents while laughing at another one because her english was being affected by her mother tongue. How are you going to laugh at someone who’s mastery of foreign language has been affected by her mother tongue? People who shrub are seen as those who are not learned despite their achievements while those with foreign ”accents” are seen as educated.

This is where the problem is, people have been taught to hate themselves and to think that anything that comes from them is inferior while anything that’s foreign is superior. If we are going to change our country and our continent it has to start with us loving and accepting who we are. We are beautiful, proud people from many tribes who have formed a beautiful country and continent. We are Kenyans, we are Africans and i am proud to be part of the generation that will rewrite the narrative of my country, Kenya, and my continent, Africa.”

Whats your take ?

In times like this when everything seems to go wrong with our security we need to be prayerful that GOD will watch over our city. For Psalms 127:1 says :

“A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem. A psalm of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.”

Here are some words of encouragement shared by Patrick Maina of gospel group BMF.

“Fellow Kenyans,good morning. It is at times like these when grenades are exploding right,left and center and loosing many of us that we must not allow fear to creep in.

This is a tactic that the enemy always uses because he knows that once fear grips us,we loose hope and thus become weak when fighting him. We must let these cowards know that we will stand together as a people and that nothing can or will ever divide or make us fearful.

We are not cowards, we will not run and hide, we will face them and because God is on our side we will defeat them. We cannot loose hope and so let us remain vigilant and together we will defeat the enemy. God bless you and may God bless Kenya.”
