I AM SORRY : Kidero Visits Mike Sonko To Condole Him After His Father Passed

Governor Evans Kidero paid a visit to Nairobi senator Mike Sonko to condole him after the Senator lost his father to illness at Nairobi National hospital on Sunday.

Evans Kidero has not had a smooth working relationship with Sonko on his tenure but on this day he kept all feelings aside to show love to a brother who is going through a tough time.

“This evening I visited Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko’s Runda home to condole with him and his family following the death of his father.

Senator Sonko and I have vowed to continue working together for a better and prosperous Nairobi City!

“I Warned You Before” : Over 60 People Arrested For Stepping On Kidero Grass

A few days after the county government issued a notice that anyone stepping on ‘Kidero’ grass will be subject to a fine of Ksh.2000/- some have naively made the first step to pay the fine. On Monday morning over 60 people were arrested by Nairobi County officials after they allegedly broke the county laws through littering and stepping on Kidero grass.

The offenders were arrested by the county’s Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement team and charged with dumping, littering and using undesignated walkaways, Nairobi News reports.

“The offenders appeared before City Principle Magistrate M.W Njagi. Most of the offenders were arrested on grounds of refusing to comply with last weeks’ notice issued against illegal dumping and littering,” said Governor Evans Kidero.

“Please avoid littering and dumping illegally and also ensure to only use designated pathways or else you will meet the same consequences,” he said.

Please Don’t TRY!! : You Will have to PAY a fine of (TWO) Kshs. 2,000 for stepping on Kidero’s Grass

Kenyans really made a joke out of the Kidero grass failing to grow over night, but this time round its jokes aside as the Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero yesterday issued a directive to have those found stepping on the flowerbeds or littering the city to be arrested.

The Governor went further ahead to unveil the team that will be mandated to undertake the task of monitoring and ensuring that no one goes against the order. The team which is part of the Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement team, comprises of more than 50 youths both men and women and will be in charge of ensuring that City residents dispose waste properly,prevent them from stepping on the flowerbeds and other upcoming projects such as the grass planting exercise.

Apart from ensuring that no one litters the city and that pedestrians use the designated footpaths,the team has also been given the duty to arrest anyone who defies the new set rules.

Kidero, spell out this new measures through a post of his Facebook page and noted that anyone found guilty of the above offenses will have to part with a minimum fine of Kshs.2,000.He added that all these was in a bid to ensure that beautification programme results become released in the future and called on the Nairobi residents to abide by the new regulations.
