Groove Awards Should Give Cash To Winners Of The Awards?

Groove Awards  is East Afria’s premier Gospel music awards showcase. It exists to honor, promote & give recognition to the artists, writers and industry players for their contribution towards the East African Gospel music industry.

So something that i noticed from a group of artistes who feel that groove awards should introduce cash.

So wait a minute before we run to any conclusions lets look at both sides of the coin. Do artistes need money? Yes they do, so that they can further the gospel and also that it can help them cover their daily needs.

Something i noted from one of the artistes is that the money should not be that huge as it will create competition. But it should be something to boost them a little.

What about the other side of the coin, money is good but groove awards is set to give you a platform to get recognized as a gospel artiste and also promote you further. Looking at some upcoming talents groove awards will help them to be recognized in their ministry.

So should money be introduced in groove awards and what impact do you think it will have on the awards.

Gloria Muliro And Willy Paul Scoop Groove Awards Female And Male Artiste Of The Year 2013

This was the 8th Annual Groove Awards initiated by Kevin Mulei in early 2004 with the main aim of promoting gospel talent in style.

Well Mo Sound Events the organizer didn’t disappoint this time by making the event a one to remember. The awards gala was attended by every social class in Kenya including H.E The President Of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta.

After the singing of the National Anthem the awards mentioned one after the other and when the moment that every one waited for all hearts were beating at their peak pulse rates.

Through out the awards announcements Willy Paul and Gloria didn’t scoop any award and when it reached at these final two awards we knew it was either their year or we wait for next year.

 

Well we didnot think wrongly as Bob Collymore ( CEO ) of Safaricom read out the gospel family’s choice by announcing Gloria Muliro and Willy Paul as Female And Male Artiste Of The Year.

This was probably their year as Gloria Muliro  and Willy Paul have risen higher and higher in their gospel ministry since they did Sitolia Earlier last year.

I would say Sitolia was the start of a new journey for these two gospel artistes because since then every song they have released ( You Never Know , Mpenzi, Mpango Wa Kando, Follow You ) have been a great blessing to many.

International Gospel Artiste Magg 44 Set To Perform At Groove Awards

Magnus Mando aka Magg 44 famed for top chatting hits such as Me I Beat featuring Esther Phiri, Pwililika and Shipikisha Club is set to perform at this years Groove Awards.

Magg 44 is the voice behind Vichani  with Pompi which most gospel hip hope heads love and also launched  his debut album Jijue at the Barclays sports complex in Lusaka.

This years Groove Awards will surely be a must attend owing to the fact that its an invites only event and also H.E The President Of Kenya is expected to grace the event according to sources.

Its been a week since i received this information but i decided to wait till i get confirmation from the organizors.

Now its now official that their will be no tickets selling this time for groove awards 2013 as only invitees will be allowed in. For those who wont get an invite should not worry as the event will be live on KTN.

Groove Awards will be held on 1st June from 6pm. (Invitees Only)

Groove Awards Nomination Night was held a few weeks ago May 7th at Leakey Auditorium and that is where we got the list of nominees.

One creative guy stands out in his shooting as he has his skills on directing. Most probably seen as a top music producer but has risen also to the ranks of video director.

He has done videos like : Ni Wewe Mkuu By Mbuvi , Gloria Muliro Papa Oshe and also Sweet Ndwale Remix by Emmy Kosgei And Mbuvi.

Groove Awards is one major gospel award ceremony held every year by Mo Sound entertainment. Its back and the nominations will be announced tonight Tuesday 7th May.
