Kenya’s Olympics Captain Threatens To Quit.

Sponsored by Mcheza

Wesley Korir, Kenya’s Captain for next month’s Olympics has threatened to step down if the Ministry of Sports does not look into the various issues affecting athletes at the camp are not addressed.

He expressed dismay that none of the grievances which he raised with Wario through a memorandum on behalf of the runners at the training camp had been met. Korir, who is also the MP for Cherangany and a member of the men’s marathon team said this at the Kipchoge Keino’s High Altitude Training Centre in Uasin Gishu yesterday.

“I will step down today as the captain if the grievances my colleagues in the camp have raised pertaining to their welfare are not addressed to our satisfaction,” warned Wesley who is also the 2012 Boston marathon champion.

Wario was quick to avert further tension by saying that he will look into the situation. He said: “I will request that the tam captain and a few athletes bring me a list of their grievances by tomorrow so that we can go through it with a view to address all the issues raised.”
