‘IT’S THE DARKEST DAY’ – OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER SAYS AFTER HUMILIATING 5-0 DEFEAT TO LIVERPOOL

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool is his darkest day in charge of Manchester United, but has no intention of walking away.

The result has ramped up pressure on Solskjaer, on the back of a big summer investment in the playing squad which saw Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane brought to Old Trafford.

Solskjaer has conceded it is his lowest point as manager at Old Trafford.
“It’s the darkest day I’ve had dealing with these players,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports. “We were not good enough, individually and as a team.
Asked if the performance reflected badly on him and his coaching staff, the Norwegian said: “It is mine. The coaching staff are brilliant. I choose the way we approach the game and today we were not clinical enough going forward.”
There are calls for United to act and relieve Solskajer of his duties, but he has no intention of quitting.
“I have come too far, we have come too far as a group and we are too close to give up now,” he said.

While United created a good opening that Bruno Fernandes missed early on, they were soon cut apart by Liverpool.

‘We have gone here two and a half years and had a similar approach to go high and press and today they scored their chances early on, they haven’t done that before,’ Solskjaer said.

‘Man Utd we should always try and home to go and stamp our authority early on. ‘

21000 Fill Embu Stadium For Groove Winners Tour (PICTURES)

(July 8th 2018) Embu Stadium recently hosted one of the largest gatherings seen at a Groove Tour to date. Over 21,000 eager men, women and children from all walks of life poured in to the stadium to celebrate the best that Kenyan Gospel music has to offer.

The event, dubbed 2018 Groove Awards with Safaricom – Winners Tour, saw many of the winners and top nominees from the recently concluded 13th edition of the Groove Awards with Safaricom take to stage and showcase the best of their musical repertoire.

Electric performances were enjoyed from various Groove winners including Masterpiece, Sarah K, Shiru wa GP, DJ Mo, DJ Terrots, and 2018 Artist of the Year, Guardian Angel.

Two-time Male Artist of the Year Bahati also made a surprise appearance, with event MC Moji giving a great account of himself both as a master of ceremony (with the gifted MC Abel) as well as a performer.

The biggest cheer of the day was reserved for  the trio of six-time 2018 winners Timeless Noel, Jabidii and Hype Ochi for their set that included favorites such as “Kula Neno”, “Shoot Satan”, and the now dance floor classic “Odi Dance”. By this time the burgeoning crowd had spilt into the rafters and outside the walls.

Continuing with the theme REBUILD, a bold call to repair areas of our lives that are broken, Groove Care pastor Ken Gomeri led a powerful devotion around the topic and took time to pray for salvation and the intervention of God in the lives and circumstances of all present.

Speaking about why they do the Groove Tour, Groove team leader Pastor David Kuria said “Every year we take our Gospel artists to different parts of the country because we feel it is important for the consumers of Gospel to connect with the music and the artists they love”.

He added, “Music has become the universal language that today’s generation speaks. It is a powerful unifying force for our nation, transcending race, age, gender and ethnicity, and needs to be encouraged at all levels of life”.

NEW TWIST : Kenyan Artistes Protest in CBD Against ‘New’ MPAKE That Replaced MCSK

A week ago Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) approved Music Publishers Association of Kenya (MPAKE) application after it declined to renew Music Copyright Society of Kenya Limited (MCSK) licence.

“The Board made the decision today after reviewing applications from two new applicants; National Music Copyright Society of Kenya Limited (NAMCOS) and MPAKE against the application for renewal by MCSK,” read a statement sent to newsrooms from KECOBO.

In a new twist artistes have not welcomed the new changes with open arms after a number of them held a protest today on Monday 3rd April at Deputy President office in Harambee Avenue.

The artistes raised their aggrievance feeling that MCSK had been wrongly snatched off it’s operating license by Kenya copyright board and given to a new organization called MPAKE. They also stated that MPAKE is an organization formed by one of MCSK directors, Mr. Mukaisi, who was their chairman and is alleged to have led to the collapse of MCSK by selfishly swindling millions of money.

Having protested at DP William Ruto’s office in the morning the DP promised to meet with the artists on Wednesday to discuss on the matter arising.

The counseling limiting travel influenced Lamu and Manda Islands.

Last Friday, Britain’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office reported the lifting of its tourism advisory and rather saying that vacationers from the UK could now head out securely to Lamu and Manda Islands.

The counseling, which had been in presence for over five years, came thus of instability in region attributable to consistent dread assaults and seizing of visitors by Al-Shabaab aggressors.

Addressing news reporters  in Lamu on Wednesday, Lamu Governor Issa Timamy said the move by the British government to have the tourism warnings lifted was a convenient one for the region’s tourism division.

Mr Timamy said he had various meetings with the British High Commissioner in Lamu, Mombasa and Nairobi where he raised the issue of lifting of the tourism warning.

He said he was sure that the move made by the UK to lift the tourism warning would go far to balance out Lamu County.
