H.E President Uhuru on monday evening applauded the victory of Ezekiel Kemboi and Vivian Cheruyiot who bagged gold medals at the continuing IAAF World Championships in Beijing. Vivian had earlier become the 1st Kenyan to bag a gold medal at the championship and a few minutes later Ezekiel Kemboi and the steeple chase team bagged a 1 to 4 finish.

Kenya is still being represented in the championship by David Rudisha Duncan Ferguson among others who will make Kenyan proud in the different races.
Rarely would you notice that there is a change in a captivating tv show but little by little you will find yourself agreeing with the script only to find yourself on the other side of religion.
Many tv shows and series being sold across Nairobi and in the world have tended to include the aspect of gay characters at least to give a balance to those who might feel marginalized by the series. From the latest one called Empire among the rest, the series always start as normal but slowly into the script you will find a gay character being introduced in the script and if you didn’t notice the impact it has on your faith you would easily find yourself watching the show.
There is no escaping the widespread acceptance of homosexuality and same-sex marriage—not even in cartoon shows. Parents are now being warned that more and more gay and transgender characters are being shown in television shows directed at children.
“There are definitely more gay and transgender characters and stories in children’s television,” Christian media watcher Jeff Johnston told LifeSiteNews.
He said some examples can be found in the animated series “The Legend of Korra,” which ended its third and final season with the two lead heroines holding hands and dissolving into a mist, thus hinting at a lesbian relationship between the two.
Then there’s the Australian cartoon series “SheZow,” which featured a “a 12-year-old boy who finds a ‘power ring’ that turns him into a girl,” Johnson said.
Cartoon Network’s “Adventure Time” has strong “gender-queer narratives,” he noted, adding that its creator, Pendleton Ward, even admitted that the show’s two female characters—Marcelline and Princess Bubblegum—previously “dated.”

Kenyans really made a joke out of the Kidero grass failing to grow over night, but this time round its jokes aside as the Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero yesterday issued a directive to have those found stepping on the flowerbeds or littering the city to be arrested.
The Governor went further ahead to unveil the team that will be mandated to undertake the task of monitoring and ensuring that no one goes against the order. The team which is part of the Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement team, comprises of more than 50 youths both men and women and will be in charge of ensuring that City residents dispose waste properly,prevent them from stepping on the flowerbeds and other upcoming projects such as the grass planting exercise.
Apart from ensuring that no one litters the city and that pedestrians use the designated footpaths,the team has also been given the duty to arrest anyone who defies the new set rules.
Kidero, spell out this new measures through a post of his Facebook page and noted that anyone found guilty of the above offenses will have to part with a minimum fine of Kshs.2,000.He added that all these was in a bid to ensure that beautification programme results become released in the future and called on the Nairobi residents to abide by the new regulations.

Renown Tanzanian worship singer Rose Muhando today revealed in an interview with Citizen radio presenter Syombua Mwele that she absolutely has no fear of getting pregnant and that the only thing that will can make her fear is sin.

Gospel singer Kambua Mathu has landed a new role in her journey of faith as she got appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the ministry of health among others. Having taken her father’s legacy of educating Kenyans on how to maintain good health through their tv show “Walk on Divine Health”, Kambua has now been named an ambassador for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable diseases.
Kambua glorified GOD for the new role that she got through a post :
“Today I was appointed by the Ministry of Health among other goodwill ambassadors, in championing the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases. I am so honored! Keeping my Father’s legacy ablaze in my own right. To God be the glory! 2015-2020.”

Life sure is random! Yesterday I was in Kenya with our Nations leaders meeting the most Amazing people with the biggest hearts and even bigger dreams. Today I’m in Amsterdam eating the smallest pancakes I’ve ever seen!!
That day I decided to sell those couple of hats on a corner over 20yrs ago, I never imagined in my wildest dreams that it would take me this far. Nevertheless, I knew that I had to take my destiny in to my own hands.
The purpose of my trip to Africa was to educate and inspire the people of Kenya about Entrepreneurship. I met with so many Entrepreneurs like you and I that have also decided to take their destiny in to their own hands. I think they ended up inspiring me more than I inspired them!
To insure that I don’t give you “Daymonds Africa trip overload” Ive decided to share the images and videos of my trip over the next couple of days and weeks to come. Please understand that my intent is not to preach or to brag. I tend to get turned off by those that show off as well.

On May 18th 2015, Christian Longomba suffered a seizure and was taken to the hospital and after undergoing many tests over the course of several days, he received a very serious and life threatening diagnosis. Because of the danger of injuring the sinuses, removing a tumor in the falx or parasagittal region is extremely difficult, a grim prognosis added to Christian’s bewildered and devastated outlook.
His friends came together to try and assist Christian Longomba through crowd funding with a target of reaching 20,000 dollars equivalent to 2 million shillings. Currently his fans and friends have been able to raise 6000 dollars and are in need of more funds to assist the artiste who had a big brand while he was residing in Kenya.
Christian’s journey still continues, after the second surgery, the doctors noted that they were able to safely remove 90% of the tumor and he still needs to go through six weeks or more of radiation in order to completely remove the tumor.

The Kenya Volleyball team had to play some group matches at the 2015 FIVB World Grand Prix without the services of the skilled Janet Wanja who was under the weather.
Malkia Strikers toiled on the court from Mexico, Algeria to Australia, weathering many challenges in the process but managed to emerge top from the rest. Little would many have known that at one point the talented Wanja had been admitted in hospital because of a bacterial infection that made her miss a couple of matches during the grand prix.
“It was my lowest moment and very discouraging to see my friend Wacu struggling alone. I thank God that I recovered in good time to play both matches in Australia.”
“The doctors said that I had a bacterial infection in my stomach. At some point, I even thought I was going to die. Things were so tough for me, but I went through medication and I am now fine.
I would like to thank Kenyans for standing with me during my toughest moment. The fans have been great locally and beyond. I have never seen the fans rally behind us this much. The feeling was great,” Wanja stated during an interview with the Standard.
Wanja’s beauty runs deep at heart as she constantly involves herself in community service programs. She has in more than one occasion involved herself in charity events to raise money for the needy. In 2008 she was among a group of sportsmen/women who participated in a fashion show to raise funds for a number of children’s homes here in Nairobi.She has also graced top covers of popular magazines in East Africa including Drum.
“My talent is God given and I should share the little contribution I can offer to the needy. I love working with kids and hope one day if I get lots of money I will build a children’s home for orphans” She says.
MzeeOjwang’ was rescued by Senator Mike Sonko from his home on Thursday and taken to hospital where he will be having a surgery on his eye which has developed complications. His former workmates followed him on his journey to recovery and even though they were happy with what Sonko Rescue Team had done they raised their feelings on what KBC had done to MzeeOjwang’ after 40 years of hard work.
Mama Kayai said that she is saddened with the news and now she is just mourning.

Taj Shopping Mall cause of fire was ignited by an electric burner but no injuries were reported after the fire was contained by the G4S in Nairobi.

Taj shopping mall is located in a prime commercial area in the suburb of Eastland’s Embakasi at the roundabout of Outering rd North airport & south airport road, towards JOMO KENYATTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT , and approximately 10km from the Nairobi CBD and 2km from the airport.

The Nairobi county government is reported to plan an eviction of streets kids from the CBD before President Obama jets in the country this July.
Nairobi County Environment Chief Officer Leah Oyake on Wednesday said the county was “clearing up all these areas before the summit kicks off.”
Street families, who have taken over some parts of the city, have been blamed for attacks on motorists and pedestrians who pass near their dens.
One of their hideouts is an open ground at the Global Cinema Roundabout, along Murang’a road.
The project, she said, is part of Nairobi Integrated Urban Development Master Plan that Governor Evans Kidero launched recently.
Ms Oyake said Mr Obama’s visit has only given them the impetus to start implementing the Sh40 million project by landscaping Uhuru Highway and Mombasa Road.
The US president is expected to use the two roads after touching down for the summit that kicks off on July 24.
